Fact: Money CAN Buy Happiness.
Money CAN’T Buy Happiness. False.
Fact: Money CAN Buy Happiness.
[...for all of you Dwight Scrute fans out there.]
In years past, common knowledge has taught us that money can not buy happiness. Well, according to new research, common knowledge is wrong.
There has been a recent explosion of research results that support that increases in income directly correlate with increases in ‘life satisfaction’. Obviously this combats the long-held notion that money does not buy happiness.
A new analysis of Gallup World Poll data, surveying 136,000 people across 132 nations from 2005 to 2006, suggests that income is much more highly correlated to happiness (or at least a form of it) than previously thought.
When asked about life satisfaction, those with higher incomes invariably ranked themselves higher than those with lower incomes.
So maybe money can not buy happiness, but it can buy life satisfaction?
